Jardin de Jade
Sérénité Mandarine N°10
"There are teas to be drunk, and others to be contemplated. I wanted to offer you a true olfactory stroll. Jardin de Jade belongs to this second category."
Prestige & Nobility
The exceptional alliance of Sencha and rare hand-rolled Jasmine Pearls (Dragon Pearls).
Vegetal Sweetness
The character of green tea softened by a heart of sweet herbal plants — passionflower and linden.
Solar Brilliance
A sparkling and joyful top note thanks to the trio of mandarin, lime and grapefruit.
It is an invitation to slowness, a parenthesis of vegetal sweetness amidst the daily tumult. If our previous numbers explored the night or raw energy, this Jardin de Jade — Sérénité Mandarine N°10 explores harmony.
At Le Comptoir de Toamasina, we want to offer you teas and herbal teas for a unique and complex taste experience. Arnaud Sion wanted to compose an "Eau de Lumière" here. The challenge was bold: to marry the nobility of green teas from China with the joyful simplicity of Mediterranean citrus fruits and the sweetness of herbal plants. The result is a "Haute Couture" but accessible blend — a tea that does not choose between character and roundness, it offers both.
A vegetal goldsmithery: three worlds in harmony
To achieve this subtle balance, this blend relies on ingredients of exceptional quality, creating a perfectly orchestrated three-tiered synergy.
| Ingredient | Role in the blend |
|---|---|
| Sencha Green Tea (China) | The backdrop. Vegetal, fresh, with notes of cut grass, it brings a slight astringency that structures the tasting. |
| Jasmine Dragon Pearls | The treasure of the blend. These hand-rolled leaves, naturally scented with jasmine flowers, unfold gracefully upon infusion, releasing a captivating floral scent. |
| Mandarin & Orange | Present as peels, fruit pieces, and essential oils, they bring a delicious roundness and a note of good mood. |
| Grapefruit & Lime | They twist the sweetness of the mandarin with a hint of noble bitterness and zesty freshness. |
| Mango | A discreet exotic touch that brings a velvety texture and binds the citrus fruits together. |
| Passionflower & Linden | Linden brings its sweet honeyed notes, while passionflower contributes to the overall roundness of the blend. |
| Lemon Balm & Verbena | They reinforce the lemony side of the blend, echoing the citrus trio — it is this signature that gives this tea its name "Serenity". |
Comparative Sensory Analysis
Jardin de Jade vs Plain Sencha vs Classic Jasmine Tea
What the blend brings compared to its bases
A three-tiered composition: Plain Sencha remains frankly vegetal, classic jasmine tea focuses on pure floral. Jardin de Jade adds a third dimension — the citrus trio — that neither of the two teas alone could offer with such accuracy.

The sensory profile: a symphony of sweetness
Tasting Jardin de Jade N°10 is like opening a window to a blooming garden after the rain.
- On the nose: the attack is dominated by the powerful and elegant floral note of jasmine, immediately followed by the tangy brilliance of mandarin and grapefruit. It is an intoxicating scent, worthy of a perfumer's fragrance.

- On the palate: the attack is incredibly silky. The Sencha shows no aggressive bitterness, softened by the mango and linden. The mid-palate is a fresh explosion of mandarin and lime. The finish is long, floral, carried by jasmine and verbena.
Why Jardin de Jade N°10 is unique
A "Luxury" composition
It is very rare to find Dragon Pearls (usually sold on their own and at a high price) in a flavored blend. It is a guarantee of quality that Arnaud Sion wanted to keep to offer you this luxurious experience.
An afternoon tea
Thanks to its richness in mild plants and its more moderate theine content than some black teas, it can easily be enjoyed until the late afternoon for a real moment of pause.
Pairings & Pastries
This green tea with its floral and citrus accents pairs wonderfully with fine, lightly sweetened pastries. Here are two pairing ideas to sublime the experience.
1. Yuzu Zest Financiers
Prepare a classic shortbread or financier batter by incorporating the grated zest of half a yuzu (or lime). The tart touch of the cake will echo the mandarin and grapefruit of Jardin de Jade, while the butter of the financier will soften the natural astringency of the Sencha.
2. Orange Blossom Macarons
The sweetness of the almond powder and the floral note of the orange blossom water create a magical aromatic bridge with the Jasmine pearls of the infusion. A combination of absolute elegance for "tea time".
Preparation tips: respect the leaf
Beware, green tea and jasmine pearls are delicate. Boiling water is their enemy.
- Water: filtered water is essential to appreciate the subtlety of the jasmine.
- Temperature: 75°C to 80°C maximum. This is crucial. Beyond that, you burn the Sencha leaves which become bitter and you destroy the subtle scent of the citrus fruits.
- Dosage: 12 to 15g per liter (one heaping teaspoon per cup).
- Time: 2 to 3 minutes. It's a quick infusion — the Sencha expresses itself quickly.
Close your eyes, breathe in the jasmine, taste the mandarin. Welcome to your inner garden.
