Like all floral waters (natural flower extracts), orange blossom is obtained by steam distillation. Thus, when passing directly through the 'heart' of the flower, the water vapor captures all the most intense molecules of that flower. Thus, at the end of the process, with cooling, the water vapor separates in two, the fatty mass that will become the essential oil and the water that is the orange blossom hydrolate. It should be noted that hydrosol contains 2% of the active ingredient in an essential oil.
