Our view on this tea

What makes this tea particularly remarkable is its base. Most flavored black teas on the market start from a single tea, often the cheapest, used as a simple support for the aroma. Here, we opted for a true blend of great teas: Darjeeling (the "champagne of teas", muscaty and fine), Gold of Nepal (round and honeyed), Keemun from China (slightly smoky, with cocoa notes) and Kerala tea in South India (full-bodied and structured). Each of these teas brings something that the others do not have.

It is obviously more complex to compose than a single base, but it changes everything when tasting: the red fruits rest on a deep, malty and nuanced framework, instead of masking a flat tea. Our requirement is always the same: to offer you a unique and incredible tea. It is this blending work, invisible to the eye, that makes the big difference on the palate.

Understanding the 4 teas in this blend

A good flavored black tea is judged first by its base. Here are the four teas that make up our Sensual, and what each brings to your cup:

  • Darjeeling (India, Himalayas): nicknamed the "champagne of teas", it grows at altitude on the Himalayan foothills. Its leaves give a clear, fine liquor with highly recognizable muscatel and floral notes.
  • Gold of Nepal: grown in high-altitude gardens near the Darjeeling region, this Nepalese tea offers a very round, sweet and honeyed profile, with a beautiful length in the mouth.
  • Keemun (China, Anhui): a great classic of Chinese production, slightly smoky, with notes of cocoa and ripe fruit — it is what brings depth and gourmet character to the blend.
  • Kerala Black Tea (South India): full-bodied and structured, it provides the tannic body and structure necessary to hold its own against the power of red fruits.

Bringing these four origins together means making the Himalayas, China and South India converse in the same cup — a base of rare complexity for a flavored tea, upon which strawberry and cranberry place their tart gourmandise.

Comparative Sensory Analysis

Sensual vs Sun of Brazil vs Plain black tea

Velvety red fruits versus tropical fruit and plain tea

Red fruits · Strawberry-Cranberry
Tropical fruity · Passion-Mango
Base complexity · Blend
Sweetness · Roundness
Sensual (Our selection)
Sun of Brazil
Plain black tea

The roundest and most complex: the Sensual clearly stands out for its multi-tea base, much more nuanced than that of a classic flavored tea. While the Sun of Brazil relies on a lively and tart tropical profile, the Sensual plays on the velvety sweetness of red fruits over a deep cocoa and malt background — a real "comfort" tea to drink all day long.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why a blend of 4 different black teas?
Each tea brings a unique dimension to the cup: Darjeeling brings its musky side, Nepal tea is honeyed, Keemun offers cocoa notes and Kerala gives body. Together, they form a much deeper and more nuanced base than a single-base black tea.
What is Darjeeling tea?
It is a high-altitude black tea from the Indian Himalayas. It is known worldwide as the "champagne of teas" due to its great finesse and characteristic floral notes.
At what temperature should I steep it?
Between 85 and 90°C, for 3 to 4 minutes maximum. The water must not boil so as not to destroy the balance between the red fruits and the complexity of the black teas.
What is the difference with the Sun of Brazil tea in the range?
The Sensual plays on the velvety and gourmet sweetness of red fruits (strawberry-cranberry) on a very complex black tea base. The Sun of Brazil relies on a much more tropical, lively and sunny profile, around passion fruit and mango.

"A rare base of four great teas — Darjeeling, Nepal, Keemun, Kerala — elegantly dressed by the sweetness of strawberry and cranberry."
