What is Kampot black pepper?

Black Kampot pepper is the second stage of harvest right after green pepper. Black pepper is the easiest of the peppers to produce. It comes from the Kampot region in southwestern Cambodia, a region bordered by the sea on one side and protected by a mountain range on the other.

The Kampot terroir produces an incredible pepper because it benefits from a sea breeze that brings freshness in summer, incredible sunshine, and above all, very fertile soil. It is a pepper cultivated in a traditional way. Since 2010, it has been PGI certified.

The 5 Kampot Peppers

We offer 5 Kampot peppers: Black Pepper, Dark Red Pepper, Red Pepper, White Pepper, and Long Red Pepper. The difference between white, red, and black is solely based on the stage of maturity — but harvesting at a different stage takes you on a journey to a different world. You will always find those eucalyptus and mint notes, but sometimes with a floral, fruity, or cocoa touch depending on the stage.
