Muntok's peppercorns come from Bangka Island.
It is to the west off the coast of Sumatra that the best white peppercorns of grain Muntok are found.
In the town of the same name, which grows white Muntok pepper. Pepper is grown on the hills that will overlook the village.
The quality of Muntok white pepper is good, but it is above all its strength and the lively fragrance that impresses us.
When harvesting the peppercorns that are ripe will be picked and put in large bags and soaked in fresh running water.
The step will facilitate the removal of the outer shell of the pepper and will contribute to optimal fermentation of the pepper fruit.
After a few days of 100% natural treatment, the skin of the grains disintegrates and the pepper is then spread on the ground or it is trampled on with an ancestral ritual.
The treatment will end with the removal of the remaining skins. The peppercorns undergo a final wash and are then dried in the sun. Which will give it creamy colors.
This is very important for the quality of the pepper.
Once the process is complete the Muntok white peppercorns will be dried in the sun and they will turn white with its singular and characteristic fragrance of White Muntok.
